Static PT – Hopefully for the last time… for a while

Chaosan (THF)
Karmi (NIN)
Kathane (WHM)
Marpon (BLM)
Tiaroro (MNK)
Toefer (BRD)

Our first camp was the Lesser Colibri camp at (I-9). About 2k later, Kat wanted to change camps. Not that I blame her, but we were getting around 100xp or so per kill. So we moved to (H-11) to kill some Puks. They hit a bit harder and that AoE knockback skill sucks. Had to bust out the Gaudy Harness for this one.

During one fight, Karmi D/Ced. I had to use Soul Voice to help sleep the Puk and Regen/Refresh everyone quickly. We all survived that fight.

Marpon mentioned something interesting that I’ve never heard about before. It went as follows:
enemy’s TPS come when you shoot magic same {japanese characters} Element
now Light Day of the Week
so, Holy > puk’s TP 100%

I guess that means Kat should stop nuking the Puk on Lightsday. But I’m not sure if there is any truth to when a mob gains TP. Of course, I’ve never looked into it either. I always thought it was like how we gain TP, from a combination of dealing and receiving damage.

Kathane was the only one to hit 60, but that was good enough for us to end our static party. I’m fairly certain that Karmi can and will continue to level her NIN (hopefully she’ll buy different earrings since those Melody Earrings are only good with BRDs in the party). I may or may not level my BRD to 60. I’m not that far away, about 10k tnl, but that would take a couple of hours in an experience points party. Eh, I guess that’s not so bad, then I can use it whenever we do a BCNM 60 or some level 60 capped fight.

Current BRD Level – 59

RDM Party @ Mount Zhayolm

Sunday, November 26, 2006

Dayuyu (NIN)
Deedol (WAR)
Galeth (BRD)
Toefer (RDM)
Toupiti (WHM)
Vass (MNK)

Camped in Mount Zhayolm (I-7) somewhere in the corner. This BRD can show me a thing or two about pulling. We were usually fighting two or three mobs at one time. They were all slept and the BRD didn’t die trying to get them. It was a bit hectic, but we were killing constantly for about two hours or so. Deedol left and Tomopiko (WAR) replaced him somewhere in the middle. We never really had to sit down for MP. I guess that’s the benefits of having a RDM and a BRD.

Once again I more or less forgot how to play RDM. I was trying to refresh and debuff, but we were killing the trolls really quickly. Debuffing seemed kinda moot. So I tried refreshing and nuking, but then I ran out of MP a lot. So I just did a little bit of all three… went afk every now and then, and it seemed that no one noticed. Best RDM ever. And I got 15k out of the whole deal. Woot!

BRD XP Time! This time, it’s for reals…

Altec (BLM)
Lunasphere (SMN)
Thenan (WAR/NIN)
Toefer (BRD)
Tore (RDM)
Zabor (SAM/WAR)

Camped in Wajaom woodlands at G-8 by the portal. BRD pulling is awesome, it was non-stop, just grab a mob then sleep it at camp. It was also easy because we were a bit high for lesser colibris though. With Chain 6, we only earned 200 xps with our Empress Band… >.<

I find it hard to balance buffing everyone, finding mobs in good time, and avoiding the BLM’s -ga nukes. He’s a little bit -ga crazy and kept on nuking two or three colibris. It wasn’t bad though, earned around 11k.

BRD XP Time!… or so I thought

Demetri (59 MNK)
Lilkim (61 SMN)
Metafour (60 PLD)
Migueru (59 BLM)
Tendrepromesse (59 THF)
Toefer (58 BRD)

First it was just Demetri and I, then he invited Migueru and Tendrepromesse. We waited for a little bit, but also found a PLD and BRD. Well it seems that Demetri wanted the SMN in the party more than he wanted me, so he kicked my low level ass out and it looks like he invited Materyu (61 BRD) instead. And I wasn’t the only one booted without any reason, as Tendrepromesse was replaced with Kopuru (60 THF). What a dick!

Being out of a party for no apparent reason, I confronted Demetri. The conversation went as follows:

>>Demetri: did you just boot me?
Demetri>> yes sry

Well looks like my /blist will have a new person on it.

Party in Crawler’s Nest the Epic XP experience

Saturday, November 25, 2006

This is a tale of a Tarutaru DRK that finally finished his long journey to reach level 41. In this tale, he fought mighty beasts such as Nest Beetles, Soldier Crawlers, and even mighty Exorays to achieve his goal in a fooking 9.5hr party. Well… shit that was a long ass party.

Allurial (RDM)
Maletaru (NIN)
Riko (SAM)
Tellahh (THF)
Toefer (DRK)
Valdar (SMN)

After waiting for three hours for a party, I finally get an invite. I wasn’t quite prepared, but went as a /WAR. Had to buy some things like another Beetle Earring +1 and off I went to camp Nest Beetles in Crawler’s Nest. We’ll see how this party turns out. The level range is 37-40 which is ok, but since I was barely into 37, I’m sure the level spread will be up to 4 levels at times.

Having a NIN tank has it’s disadvantages, such as using Stun takes hate away from the tank. Remind me to stop doing that. These guys also can’t skillchain… T.T. I think the main problem with that though is Riko. The Japanese does not pay attention as first voker and doesn’t stand behind the mob for the SATA. I’m sure it’s also hard that we can’t actually communicate to her. How do you say “stand behind the beetle you dirty whore” in Japanese? However, with all the difficulties, we seem to be ok at killing Nest Beetles quickly.

Tellahh pulled two beetles this one time. I must admit, I thought we were going to die. Somehow I managed to sleep the mob (awesome DRK skillz) and we killed them one at a time. The second beetle kept waking up every now and then. After the sleep resistance built up, I guess I wasn’t good for more than two Sleeps. Oh well… At least we survived with no deaths.

Once Maletaru hit 40, she left. Heh… named Maletaru even though it is a female tarutaru model. Jas (NIN) replaced her/him.

Later on, Valdar was replace with Merciless (WHM) and Allurial was replaced with Thundorian (RDM). I guess when Allurial hit 41 she didn’t need to be in the party anymore. I’m sure I’ll do the same thing when I hit 41 ^^.

It sucks to play with Riko. She doesn’t pay attention, nor voke when needed. She didn’t even noticed when we changed camps to Soldier Crawlers by the secret room because our camp was being overrun with people. What kind of crappy off-tank is she?

There was a crappy pull by Tellahh, pulled two crawlers. I slept one, but it kept waking. After we killed the first one, the second one killed Jas. WHM 2hred then rested. He pretty much committed suicide right there. We slept the Soldier Crawler again then tried to zone, but it woke up and Merciless was at the mercy of six more Worker Crawlers. I tried to Poisonga them and save the WHM, but it was too late. The WHM kept running and died, and because my poisonga hit them, I soon died afterwards. Of course Tellahh /flee to the zone. We got an R2 from Envylust (WHM), however i don’t believe the benefits of R2 actually kick in until I’m level 50+. Oh well…

Did I say one death? Because I meant two. I guess it was a mistake to cast Poisonga on them. The crawlers came back down and unleashed holy hell as they killed me, Merciless, and Riko. Thundorian raised the WHM, then the WHM casted Cure III on himself rather than raise anyone else. Bastard >.< If I didn’t know any better, I’d say he was a Tarutaru hater.

Tellahh left after he hit 40. Replaced him with Evilcwabs (BRD) and PL Cwabs. We’ll see how this party will go. Oh Damnit!!! This means that I have to pull now. WHM D/Ced and Riko left a little bit later.

It’s much harder to pull since there is a party of 44s 4-maning these crawlers… Maybe I should pull Hornflys too, but I’m sure that I should wait until everyone is at least lv 40. Which means I need to be 40 since I’m the lowest level in the party. Shayla (BLU) and Zigorow (WHM) joined us. Hmm… that now makes most of us level 39, I’m the only level 38, and Jas is the only level 42. But we’re not picky with our NINs so it’s ok to have a 4 level spread.

Mobs were getting scarce, so I thought pulling a Hornfly might do us some good. Jas and Thundor agreed and off I pulled. First pull was fine, except we were fighting outside the tunnel due to avoiding aggro of nearby Worker Crawlers while we were fighting Soldier Crawlers. Another Hornfly aggroed, but Cwabs got hate on both from healing. I thought we were fine, but Thundorian tries to sleep one and he dies. Oh well. When everyone is at least level 40 (except for me), we should be able to take these guys. I think think we should be able to take these guys actually… we even have a WHM for Curagas. Oh well…

During one pull, a Soldier popped at camp. I took mine off to the side and waved to Jas. I guess no one saw it as I stood there dying. Then I saw the Soldier Crawler at camp aggro. I ran in hoping that Cwabs would heal me, but he was concentrating on the tank. Well… that’s just my luck. Then I died. Nifty eh? What the hell was all the other healers doing? Sure I could have Slept the mob, but I didn’t think of that until later. I was in the red and I still go no lovin’.

Syalu (NIN) replaced Jas. For some reason, people keep pulling crap when I’ve already used my pull macro to snag something. It’s a little bit annoying. Especially when now I have hate on a mob that won’t go away. I just hope sleep sticks… >.>

Hmm… just realized I’m the only original member left in a party that started well over 8 hours ago.

Aquamax (PUP) replaced Evilcwabs and PL. Hmm… Exorays are a lot tougher without a PLer as I found out. I was watching Robot Chicken and ran past an Exoray. It came back and killed Syalu in one hit, then Zigorow thought very quickly and teleported the survivors to Holla. If he thought better though, it would have been Dem. Interestingly enough, Syalu was up with full health by the time we got back.

Holy fook, I’ve been playing this game for 9.5hrs. I need to leave. I was 1/3 into level 41. One more level and people would’ve seen that I had a gimped /WAR sub. Whew, dodged a bullet there. Anyway, time to sell my DRK eq. Don’t think I’ll touch it again for a while at least.
