Proto-Omega

Thursday, October 26, 2006

It was a nice little fight. Disposable Heroes had a full alliance. There were four BLMs, two RDM/DRKs, 2 NINs, a PLD, and the rest were filled in with melee jobs that I didn’t care about. There was at least a SMN, MNK, DRG, BRD, and 2 WHMs present. Now that I think about it, it doesn’t appear we had that much melee power, but then again, there are four more slots available so who knows what filled it. Probably more DRGs. DH is a DRG enriched ls. Maybe they want to do Desert Swarm one day.

So over the next 1/2 hr, we slowly killed Proto-Omega. The stunners had a stun rotation. The BLMs would nuke Tier II spells while PO was on all four legs. The melee would rush in and fight while PO was on two legs. When Gunpods spawned, our PLD/NIN would aggro it and run around until BLMs nuked it with Tier IV spells. It was quite nice and easy until it got to its final form. Then people started to die.

At 25% health, Proto-Omega stands on two feet and starts to beat the crap out of people. I died four times during the next 10 minutes or so. People were dying left and right. There were weakend people and double weakend (I’m not sure what double weakend people are though, I just heard it over party chat). It was very chaotic. The best people killer move was Laser Shower. It got really close. Towards the end, people were just 2hring and beating the shit out of Proto-Omega… and then dying. We beat it with 1 minute to spare. And people were shouting, “get to the box!!!” I stayed dead because I was out of mp and I already 2hred around the last 7-8 minutes mark. Unfortunately the only pieces that dropped were the head pieces. Oh well.

My First Sky Event

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

Can you say boring? Apparently Sky is where people go to camp really high level mobs that drop good shit. The LS is nice, the people are nice, it’s just that I’m not a fan of camping NMs. Essentially I just stood there for 3.5 hrs playing Zelda on my gameboy while waiting for the mob to spawn. Every now and then we’d kill some other mobs that pop on our location. Also since it is an EST ls, it’s a bit hard for me to show up on time and it doesn’t seem that rewarding or interesting. Perhaps after I get some other equipment via Dynamis or Limbus I will change my opinion. It’s also hard to find a nice LS (particularly one in PST). Well I guess we’ll wait and see.

Wajaom Woodlands – Die Lesser Colibri Die!

Wednesday, October 25, 2006

Today’s static party consisted of Einss (THF), Jokerdragon (RNG), Karmi (NIN), Kathane (WHM), Kutan (BLM), and me (BRD). We decided to go and party in Wajaom Woodlands because the Karmi had spoken. At first it was a bit slow because Jokerdragon (I think that was his highest lvl) was not familiar with the area. He didn’t have an Olduum ring and was forced to take the boat over to Whitegate. Without our mighty RNG, we decided to run off without him.

We camped close to the Al Zahbi border at I-9. It looked pretty empty and it seemed to be able to support one party. Five man fights with the Lesser Colibri was easy with a BLM. There were a few times in which it took a while to kill it, but we managed to survive. We earned about 400+ per kill before Jokerdragon got there.

After Jokerdragon arrive, Kutan got buzzed by her real life “job”. What is up with that? She went afk. It’s ok though, I mean we don’t need a BLM right? The second mob we fought after Kutan left owned us. During the fight I managed to whip out my Charm Wand +1 and I casted reraise on Kat. Shortly afterwords we wiped. Even Kutan died.

The next noticable event happened about an hour or two later. Karmi and Kathane, having great internet access, were both dcing. I slept the mob and we were logging out. About 10 seconds left Karmi pops back. So I made the mistake of standing up to invite her just to tell her to log off. Unfortunately the Lesser Colibri had different plans. It started to attack Karmi and me. Kutan logged back on and attempted to sleep it. We all died. That bastard JPN THF never came back either. What a dick! Oh well. Fun times…

While we were camping there an NM Colibri popped. A couple of lv 75s were camping it. I guess we were killing the placeholder mobs. Maybe that’s why this camp wasn’t listed on Campsitarus.

Current Static Party Level:
Karmi – 55
Kathane – 55
Kutan – 54
Toefer – 55

Deaths:
Einss – 1
Jokerdragon – 1
Karmi – 2
Kathane – 1
Kutan – 2
Toefer – 2

Kat is getting bored of WHM. I don’t really enjoy BRD too much. It has been decided to disband the static party at level 60. Kat would like to return to leveling her DRG. I would like to get some merit points for my BLM or RDM. Who knows what Karmi or Kutan will do now. Oh damnit! That means we’ll have to help Karmi and Kutan do Genkai 3. T.T

Pwnage of the day.

Death to Chipya

This happened a while ago, but I just had to put it up on this site. Best besieged fight ever.
